Guidelines for Presenters
Posters should be oriented horizontally with a width of no more than 4 ft and a height of no more than 3ft.
If you are presenting a paper, you will have 10 minutes to present your work and 5 minutes for questions. We have screens to present slide shows in each room. Most rooms have VGA/HDMI ports, and some rooms have adapters. We strongly encourage you to bring dongles/adpaters that work with your computer if you would like to use your own computer. In addition, all rooms have computers where you could download files that you want to present.
Locations, Parking, and Lodging
The conference will be hosted on the campus of Vanderbilt University in the Wyatt Center, located at 1930 South Dr, Nashville, TN 37203 (see map).
The social hour will take place at Tennessee Brew Works, located at 809 Ewing Ave, Nashville, TN 37203.
Navigating the Wyatt Center
The entire LSGS conference will take place in The Wyatt Center on the Peabody campus. The Wyatt Center is located at the top of the Peabody Esplanade and is composed of two joined halves known as “Old Wyatt” and “New Wyatt”. Moving between them is far from trivial—if you have any trouble navigating, please reach out to a conference rep or any Peabody student. In the meantime, the following details should help you navigate:
Old Wyatt is the original building facing the Peabody lawn, with majestic columns and stairs. The following rooms are in Old Wyatt: The Rotunda (3rd floor), 101, 102, 121, 122.
New Wyatt is the addition to the building that sits behind the original building, accessible from either parking lot. The following rooms are in New Wyatt: The Atrium (ground floor), 050-1, 050-3, 164, 264, 344.
Traveling between Old & New Wyatt:
The hallway on the east side of the building will take you from the 2nd floor of Old Wyatt to floor 1.5 of New Wyatt
The elevator on the west side of the building services both halves: 1R, 2R, 3R are Old Wyatt, 1, 2, 3 are New Wyatt.
When in doubt, you can always walk outside and around to a different entrance and enjoy the beautiful Tennessee weather.
Parking is tough near campus. There are metered parking spots on 18th Street near the Wyatt Center. There is also some free street parking as you move further from campus on 17th, 16th, Villa Place, and 15th. Spots near campus fill up fast. We encourage you to carpool if you're driving and leave yourself ample time to find a spot and walk to campus. Lyft/uber are also great options, and Bird/Lime scooters are a hit right now in Nashville.
Registration for LSGSC 2018 is now closed.
If you have questions, please contact the conference organizers.
